3 easy ways to use your garden as another room in your home

Extend with a conservatory

Another easy way to create a room in your garden is to build a conservatory on the side or rear of your house. This is the kind of extension that allows you to use the new space in any way you like, such as a sunroom, an office, or even a guest bedroom.

Consider providing cover for the patio to ensure you can use it in all weathers. A simple gazebo will work just fine, or you can add a more permanent structure such as a pergola. Once that’s done, it’s time to fit the area with seasonal cooking equipment like an outdoor pizza oven or a BBQ.

You should also make it easy to get to and from the kitchen. Clear the traffic route between the two areas so no one trips whilst carrying a tray. And finally, consider enclosing the area if you still feel a chill during the winter – this is also good for privacy reasons.
